On Sunday, August 27th, a small band of Varsity brothers set out for Glen Jean, WV to compete in the Spartan Race Sprint - a 3-mile, obstacle filled competition. The group of 6 spent almost two hours running through mountains and woods and navigating obstacles from tire flips and rope climbs to mud crawls and wall climbs. Twenty obstacles later and with their mettle thoroughly tested, the race ended with the Spartan Race’s signature obstacle – the fire jump.
The VVT team placed 26thout of 102 teams that competed. Check out some of the pictures on our Facebook page of our guys doing their thing as well as some “pre-race/no mud” and some “post-race/very muddy” shots!
The group is already looking forward to and planning next year’s trip. We’re hoping the race becomes an annual VVT event that continues to build camaraderie and strength among our VVT team.
